Our first job is to get to know you and your child as unique individuals. Our infant program uses on-demand scheduling to assure that each child’s specific needs are met, so that they grow and thrive. The caregiver’s gentle, reassuring voices help establish a “home-away-from-home” for your little one, filled with security, warmth, love and trust. Our approach to caring for infants allows each individual child to develop and progress at their unique rhythm. We encourage an environment for the child that is physically safe, cognitively challenging and emotionally nurturing. Our consistent & knowledgeable staff will become your partners in navigating the sea of developmental changes you will encounter during your child’s first year.
A nurturing environment where children are challenged with new activities to stimulate their progress and give them the opportunity to explore through large and small muscle activities, art, sensory experiences, circle time, outside time and much more! Developing self help skills such as using utensils at meals, drinking from a regular cup, communicating needs and identifying objects start children on the path to becoming an independent learner. Children are guided as they begin to develop social skills like: sharing, using our words, gentle touches. They continue to refine newly learned skills like becoming strong walkers and separating more easily from parents.
Asserting independence, communication skills and social awareness go hand-in-hand. Their classroom is filled with blocks, books, dress-up clothes, dishes and all sorts of things to encourage a child’s imagination. They love to work with art materials and in the touch tub washing babies or digging in the dirt with trucks. It may look like play, but the children are working very hard at their emotional development, using pretend play to act out their feelings and communicate their curiosity and concern. Our learning environments provide one-on-one instruction to foster individualized learning. What may appear to be a very free-formed class is in fact quite structured and tailored to children’s needs. We strive to provide a wide array of learning outlets for children. Some areas include; practical life, language development, mathematics, science and mechanics.
Activities are planned in discovery areas where they can experience and develop lifelong learning skills. We will foster individual learning by providing challenging age appropriate activities that will enhance each area of the developing child, including the spiritual. It is our goal to prepare them in every way possible for success in school. We encourage each child to explore and play while offering guidance to help develop self-control and positive social skills. Group time promotes community in the classroom by providing an environment of learning and shared culture. Self-guided play allows each child to learn responsibility and respect for materials. We provide opportunities to: develop confidence, creativity and self control, build strong friendships, expand attention span, verbal skills and motor skills, and learn to value others with kindness and respect.
During the summer we offer a fun-tastic all day adventure program for children in K-5th grades. During the school year, activity programs will be offered before and after school and on holidays. At this time we are not able to provide transportation to and from schools.
